PORTFOLIO
Hello! Please scroll down to see my design portfolio. The following projects were organised in a chronological order and show a range of experimentations with different medias and ideas.
00// SLEEPY CAT : short animation
"Sleeping Cat" is a 3D animation that captures the blend of Halloween and the charm of European fruit markets. The scene is made to have a strong touch of clay and wood textures, along with gingham fabric wrapped around the cats neck. I invite viewers to experience the magic of the spooky season and the the simple joy of a cat's nap. This project was done using Cinema 4D and blender, crafted using the technics of rigging, animating shape keys and displace modifiers.
00// Merry Christmas : short animation
01// SUSHI : The Tatami Room + Kewpie baby
This project aims to create a space that combines the elegance of Japanese tatami rooms with the cuteness of the iconic Kewpie baby—a space where tradition and playfulness come together to form a unique atmosphere. The Kewpie baby, a symbol of nostalgia and innocence, has inspired me to craft the food served in this room with little faces. You’ll discover these chubby figures in the surfaces of the sushi, puddings, and vegetables, infusing the space with their playful presence and evoking a sense of wonder.
Done using Blender and cinema 4D
02// SONY - Character Development
This project aimed in creating a character designed not only to personify Sony Music's brand identity but also to resonate with the diverse and passionate music community that uses the company's services and products on a daily bases. By combining creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the music industry, I developed a very android looking character that could become a beloved symbol of Sony Music.
Done using Blender and Brush
02// FMP - Home: The Archive + The Road Home
This project spanned an entire year, and it is dedicated to better understanding the concept of "home", within the context of our post-modern society, having as it main topics migration, the cyber space and post colonial theory.
The final outcomes are two publications .The first publication, titled "Home," initiates with an 8,000-word research paper followed by an archive, that houses a collection of photographs and accompanied by definitions that mirror my personal interpretation of the notion of home. These visuals were captured across two contrasting locations, Hong Kong and Brazil, offering a diverse and multicultural perspective on this profound theme.
The second publication, is named "The Road Home," takes a more artistic approach. It draws inspiration from the of knowledge I gained through academic research and on-site exploration, translating these insights into an illustrated book.
The Archive
All of the text included in this publication is displayed in three languages: Portuguese (my home language), cantonese ( the location of some of the photos and field research) and english ( the layout and organisation of the publication was was made in the UK )
04// Da&D 2023: Giff Gaff submission
This brief’s main task was to create a 2D animation that explained the partnership between Giff Gaff and B Corp, along with that it was requested 2 sets of OOH installations for advertising.
Done using: 3D Character Design - Blender
2D Animation - After Effects + Illustrator
OOH mock-ups - Photoshop
animations that were not used, but were made for this project
05// Blender Friends - Character Development
This personal project started with my desire to learn 3D image making. My first initial explorations lead to the creation of 3 characters, which one of them have a mission and a porpouse. They could work for a little toy’s series, that is why I also created a package for each one of them. After that I developed passion and appreciation for the 3D world.
Done using Blender
06// Coding experimentations
Here are two animated visuals I created using Processing. This experimentations allowed me to combine creativity and coding to produce visually stimulating 2D animations.
